Convention Project #2!

Day 2 of Convention fun!

Today I'm sharing another of my three dimensional swaps - a Stuffed Christmas Ornament.

Yes, we will be doing an entire class of these and similar ornaments this fall - so be on the look out for that class. You'll be able to customize your Christmas tree this year for very little $$!

This cute ornament uses some more of the NEW Bella Rose Designer Series Paper - the colors are Riding Hood Red and Pink Pirouette.

The adorable tag was created with a HOSTESS stamp set - Deer Friends. You should see the other 7 stamps in the set - TOO CUTE! You are going to LOVE it!

Oh, did I mention that if you are an August or September Stampin' Party HOSTESS - I have a special Surprise for you! But you have to host a party to find out!

Convention Project #1

Hi everyone! Yes, I know it's been awhile, but I've been feverishly working on projects for Convention - which officially starts Tomorrow! I'm flying out to Salt Lake City today! WooHoo! Can you feel my excitement through the screen?!

And, if you all would please pray for me while I'm out there - I've been asked to give a seminar and will be presenting it 12 times over the course of the week. I'd love to know you all are praying for me for strength, courage and wisdom. It would be great to know that someone's life will be impacted this week by something they hear in my class. Just pray that God gives me the best words and that I represent Him well.

Now, about this project. I created it for one of my three dimensional swaps. It's a desktop photo holder made with coasters and clothespins! Yes - how fun! We will be making these in an upcoming class, so be sure to check out the August class schedule on my sidebar!

As you can see, I used NEW Designer Series paper and the New stamp set Dreams DuJour -AND the NEW Scallop Border Punch! Three of the new In-Colors are shown here - Kiwi Kiss, Pink Pirouette and Riding Hood Red! I can't wait till you all get to play with them!

A Little R and R

Hi everyone, I meant to post the other day that I'd be going out of town until Monday, but I forgot in my rush of packing, etc. So, I'm using my friend Karen's computer real quick to let you all know that I'm away until Monday morning for a little rest.

With all the craziness around my home these last few weeks, I just needed to get away and take a breath. So Emma and I have come to Southern Pines, NC to visit my friend Karen and her kids. We haven't seen them in 2 years this month since they were transferred from DC to Ft. Bragg! Her husband, Greg is serving in Iraq until next year, so please add him and my precious friend to your prayers for safety and encouragement. As Greg likes to say, his life is "like a bad country song", he is "working in a palace and living in a trailer!" Crazy, huh?

Emma and I have been enjoying our visit very much and will find it hard to come home tomorrow night. But, with Stampin' Up!'s National Convention just 10 days away I have a LOT of work to do!

In the meantime, I hope to see many of you at Stamp camp this week either on Tuesday, or Saturday AND I'll be posting the Retiring Accessories list early Monday Morning, so stay tuned!

In Colors Beginning to Sell OUT!

Hey everyone! Just a heads up - both the Blue Bayou and Purely Pomegranate Double Stitched Ribbon is now SOLD OUT! We just recieved notification from Stampin' Up! this morning.

The Retiring Accessories list will be published on Monday, July 21st! I will post this to my blog as soon as I receive it and will also send an e-mail to you if you are on my mailing list. Remember, all orders from this list are FIRST COME - FIRST SERVED. Once items sell out, they cannot be ordered again. This list will include items from the Accessories section of the catalog as well as Stampin' Around Wheels!

Wow, has it really been 4 days since I posted?

Sorry everyone! We spent the weekend of the 4th with family and since we left our daughter to stay with her grandparents, we decided to paint the kitchen this week. I know, it sounds simple enough, but you obviously aren't familiar with our home improvement record. (And for the record, it was my husband's idea to paint this week - not mine!) Anyway, whenever we do something in the house, it takes twice as much time and twice as much effort as we plan and we even plan for the extra time and effort. Life would really be so much simpler if we could just hire true professionals to do the work! Sigh, maybe someday - a girl can dream, right?

I do have a card for you today, as you can see and if you attended my Going, Going, Gone stamp camp at the end of June, you got to make this one! The card uses the retiring stamp set, Year after Year, one of my faves!, and the sentiment is from It's Your Birthday - a rockin' group of birthday sayings AND also retiring! Humph!

Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery and Very Vanilla cardstock combined with Designer Series prints paper in Rose Red and Certainly Celery. I markered the image and after stamping, used my 1/16" hole punch to make the holes for the Linen Thread. The doodle lines were drawn with a Chocolate Chip marker.

Tomorrow and Saturday at 10 am is 12 x 12 Scrapbook camp - I still have room on Saturday if you'd like to come. I'll be posting one of the layouts tomorrow so you can see what little stamping I have been doing this week! Sheesh! You'd think we were painting the kitchen or something! :)

If you attended Stamp Camp at the end of June, then you got to make this beauty!

The focal image is from one of my favorite retiring stamp sets - Year after Year. This set is so versatile - it really has something for every occasion. I will surely miss it!

The card stock is Soft Sky edged with Soft Sky ink (all pieces) and the backgroud layer is Basic Gray stamped with Basic Gray ink using the swirl image from Carte Postale (also retiring!).

The cake image is stamped on to Shimmer White cardstock in Basic Gray ink and colored with Going Gray marker. Of course it had to have Dazzling Diamonds glitter for some wedding bling!
Silver Brads, Basic Gray Taffeta ribbon and two punches for the sentiment and voila! - Beautiful wedding or anniversary card!

Happy 4th Everyone!

I'm just sharing some of my favorite photo's with you today because the card I have planned for the weekly Blogger's Challenge is not finished yet. I will be posting it next week, but I spent most of my week being Mom and Wife and not Stamper! We are actually out of town from today until late Sunday, but when I come back, I'll be without my daughter for a whole week! She is staying with her grandparents for a visit!

Yes, of course I'll miss her - but man, have I got some work to catch up on!

In the meantime, I've scheduled a post for Saturday so you'll have something new to look at over the weekend. Then it's back to regularly scheduled programming on Monday!

These pictures are from July 4th 2004. Emma and my Dad were in the local parade on Main St. in my parents home town that day. She had so much fun throwing candy out to the onlookers. Later on, we went to watch the fireworks from the local boatyard and Emma was enjoying the evening breeze with her flag. That 4th remains one of my all time favorites, ever! I hope you all have a fabulous 4th with your loved ones! I love this holiday so much! I'm very patriotic and enjoy the celebration each year of just being an American. My Dad is a veteran and our good friend Greg is serving in Iraq right now, so I can't help but remember that the liberty we enjoy is bought with a price. I hope to never take it for granted.

RAK from my Upline!

B-cuz she is so sweet! I can honestly say that I have the BEST upline leader in the world! When I walked away from my position with another Direct Sales company to begin Stampin' Up! she was there for anything and everything I needed and she still is today! The best part is that she is one of my closest friends on the planet as well. Needless to say, when she makes something for her downline, it just thrills me to be on the recieving end!!

This is one of my goals as a Stampin' Up! Manager for this coming year - to do more fun things like this for my downline team. We always have such a great time together whenever we have a meeting and stamp. I'm so excited that 5 of them are coming with me to convention this year! We are going to have a blast.

Anyway, the project my upline made for me is this cute mini-scrapbook. She based it on one we got to make on the cruise with a new stamp set. Hers is created with the Seaside stamp set and the Jersey Shore Designer Series Paper.

Scrapbooks don't have to be large and cumbersome. In fact, some of my favorite albums are mini's like this one. I think I'll put pictures of us from Bermuda in it - that is if I ever get them out of the computer! LOL!

A Little Kindness........

Goes a long way, doesn't it? It occurred to me that I know a lot of kind people. People who have the ability to make your day brighter just because they exist. That's such a blessing and I don't want to ever take them for granted! So, for all of you kindhearted friends out there, thanks for being you! This card is for you! Enjoy!

Ink: Certainly Celery, Apricot Appeal
Cardstock: Apricot Appeal, Glossy White, Whisper White
Other: Certainly Celery DSP, Scallop Punch, Rhinestone Circle Brads Ice (green) Celery Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals, Brayer, Sanding Blocks

This card uses the Faux Linen technique. I stamped the Floral Background onto Glossy CS with Celery ink. Sanded it with the sanding blocks in two directions, then brayered on Apricot Ink and wiped clean with a paper towel. It's much prettier in real life, my camera doesn't pick up the subtleties of the texture.
