Good morning stamping friends!
No stamping project in this post - that's coming later today - but I had to share a couple of photos of Emma before she headed out for her first day of 7th Grade.
We've had an amazing Summer together, and honestly, as much as I was looking forward to having the house and studio back to myself, I miss my girl already! I can't believe how much she has grown up in just a few short months.

Here she is all decked out in her carefully chosen 1st Day outfit, complete with the cool purse she chose at Fossil yesterday. THAT was a shopping trip to remember and I'm so glad Mark wasn't with us! He would have had a conniption! Emma was definitely being 'checked out' by two of the male clerks in the store and one of them was openly chatting her up.........Oh, my, she's only 12, people! So back off!!!
Thank goodness she was oblivious to it, THAT does my heart good!
Here she is saying goodbye to Susie -

Here she is saying goodbye to Susie -
Susie is so funny about Emma leaving for school, she follows her out to the back gate where she leaves to catch her bus and she walks along the fenceline keeping an eye on her. She always looks so sad when Emma rounds the neighbors garage and disappears from sight. And even funnier, when it's time for Emma's bus to drop her off in the afternoon, Susie lets me know it in no uncertain terms! Her bark can be heard at the bus stop I think! I have to let her out the back door to greet Emma at the gate or she turns into crazy dog! Guess it's another reason to be thankful for Susie - she's a great alarm clock for me! :)
I've decided that since I only have 5 more 1st Days of School left, I'm just going to enjoy them for what they are and soak in the memories. I know she's growing up fast and before we know it, she'll be off to college - but for now, I'm just going to soak it all in. So, if that means I'm sappy, then so be it - we only have her here for a little while.
Have a blessed day!

Robin,
ReplyDeleteYou won't be sappy alone... I just realized after your post that I only have 1 more school start for my oldest... all summer I kept thinking I have one more summer with her and then she'll be gone... completely forgot about the first day of school...WAAH! We will be okay?? Right? IF life gets you down.. then just stamp! Thanks!
Dawn
Look how grown up Emma is!!!! Tell her Hi for me!!
ReplyDeleteI was sappy over here, too! My oldest just had his last 1st day of middle school. Next year he'll be in high school! ACK!
ReplyDeleteMy baby girl is also a 12 year old 7th-grader. :) We had just purchased her a pair of basketball shoes at the mall. The lady asked me if she played for the high school. What??!! I told her she just made 5 more gray hairs pop out on my head. LOL
Be as sappy as you want! I'll be right there with you! I hope Emma has a wonderful year!
Hugs!
