Mini Milk Carton Christmas Ornament

Align Center
The other day I was in the studio looking at a to-do list that was a mile long. Try as I might, I just couldn't get myself to start on it, even though it was for creative projects for several upcoming events. Have you ever just had a day when you wanted to scrap the to-do list and just play? Well that was me that day. So, that's what I did.

Sitting on the counter where I normally work were three undecorated Mini-Milk Cartons that had been cut with the Big Shot and assembled with Sticky Strip. They were just sitting there staring at me, waiting to be decorated. Sitting there all in a row like that, it reminded me of a row of little townhouses, or birdhouses and I thought how cute they would look as a Christmas Ornament all attached together.
Now, you tell me - are they cute?

I had so much fun making this ornament and it was so easy too!
I attached the milk cartons together with more Sticky Strip and then added the strip of Jolly Holiday DSP around the middle. Next I wrapped a piece of Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding around them and tied a sweet little bow on one end.

Using my Northern Flurries Big Shot Die, I cut out some alternating color snowflakes and attached them to the milk cartons with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Next, I used my Lovely Letters Alphabet set to stamp the word "JOY" on Very Vanilla Cardstock and punched them out with the 1 1/4" Circle Punch. After sponging them and adding Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, they were attached to the snowflakes with more dimensionals.

To finish it off, I cut a piece of Hemp Twine and tied it through two holes punched in the top of the end cartons for a hanger. Each milk carton had a mini clip added to the top. I didn't seal them because I thought it would be fun to add some candy to each one before I put it on the tree or gave it as a gift to someone.

I liked the end result so much that I may be adding it to one of my specialty Christmas Classes between now and December 18th. My class schedule should be finalized by this weekend. I've had to postpone posting everything because I was waiting for changes in Emma's skating schedule. There have been some added practices and you know how it goes, I am the taxi driver! But, that's one of the reasons I love SU! so much, I can work, but still be Mom and that makes my heart happy.

Have a great day everyone! I'll be back this evening with the Stamping 411 Saturday Sketch challenge project - I promise you, it's a doozy!

Stamped blessings,
~~Robin

  4. That is a cute ornament. So how big does it measure? Love the way you did the word JOY in the front and added the little clips at the tops of the cartons.
