A Summery Hello!

And HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

And with NEW stuff too!

I was playing with new stamps and new colors last month and created this card that just made me smile! I think it may be one of my Convention swaps - what do you think? Should I make a bunch of this one?

The colors are so refreshing - I love this combo! Calypso Coral, So Saffron, Poppy Parade and Very Vanilla. I used the fabulous new stamp set My Friend for the stamping. Each image in that set is awesome. They work so well together, but separately too they stand on their own.

I inked up the flower/vine image with Calypso Coral Classic Ink and stamped it in the lower left corner of the card - you know how I love tone on tone! I used the Calypso Coral Stampin' Write Marker and my Color Spritzer Tool to lightly fleck the background with color. Such a cool effect! Then I inked up the stamp again, stamped off one time and stamped it on the Very Vanilla focal piece.

The greeting was stamped with Poppy Parade Classic Ink and since my ink pad was so juicy, I was able to quickly cover it with Clear Embossing Powder and Emboss it! Really, the photo doesn't do it justice.

That layer was matted on Poppy Parade cardstock, then popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals on a piece of So Saffron cardstock. To complete the card, I wrapped a piece of Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon around the card front, running it between the Poppy Parade and So Saffron layers. It's tied up in a little bow to finish it off! (Since the Taffeta Ribbon retired yesterday, I'll be substituting Very Vanilla Seam Binding which will look just as gorgeous!)
