Ok, so now that I've gotten that out of my system, I can show you my card for today. Last month, I participated in three card swaps - I think I mentioned that the other day. This card is the one I made for the Rising Star Swap. It's a group of demos who all were named as Rising Stars during their 1st year as a demo. And since that was me once upon a time - I get to be part of this fun group of stampers!
Here's the card I designed:
Here's the card I designed:
For this card, I really wanted the embossed "Joy" to stand out, so I kept it really simple. It's a 4 1/4" square card done in Whisper White and Elegant Eggplant. I cut the layers at 1/8" instead of the usual 1/4" because I wanted a thinner border of color showing between the white layers. The top two layers are popped up on Stampin' Dimensionals to make it really shine.
The star image was stamped in Elegant Eggplant Classic Ink and I stamped over top of it with the Joy image in Versamark Ink. It was heat embossed with the new Pewter Embossing Powder.
The only accent on the card is in the lower right corner. I used my Paper Piercer and Mat Pack to pierce 6 holes in a row. The hole on the far right was covered with a single Basic Rhinestone jewel.
And that's it - clean and simple and elegant.
I hope the other Rising Stars liked the card - I got some great ones back and I'll have them on display in the studio. Maybe I'll even do a Swap Showcase here on the blog to show you some of my favorites!
Here's a few of the products I used to create today's card:
#124114 - Pewter Embossing Powder $4.75
