Awesome Ovals - Shaped Card

It's official, I love the new Sunshine and Sprinkles Designer Paper and the Cloudy Day embossing folder! 
Ok, well, I love the new Ovals Collection Framelits, the Feel Goods stamp set and the gorgeous new Striped Organdy Ribbon too. 

Yeah, I pretty much {{{heart}}} the whole new catalog! 
LOL! 
Have you SEEN it yet? It's fabulous, really. 

Here's a card I made with the few products I listed above:

This was for a special swap a Leadership and I loved it so much that I repeated it for my stamp classes this month. 
It's super easy to make, just take a folded piece of Whisper White cardstock (4 1/4" x 5 1/2" folded) and run it through the Big Shot with the largest Oval from the Ovals Collection Framelits - it's the scalloped one. 
You need to allow the edge of the Framelit to hang over the folded top just a teensy bit, so when it goes through the Big Shot, it leaves a slight piece of your fold. 
Otherwise, you end up with two very lovely scalloped oval pieces......
and we don't want that. 

Once you've made your oval shaped card, then place the top half into the Cloudy Day embossing folder and run it through the Big Shot again, adding that super cute cloud texture to your card front. 

For my card, I took a sponge and lightly rubbed Marina Mist ink on the surface, just enough to bring out the texture. I told my stampers to start sponging in the middle so if it started out too heavy, it would be covered up by the other layers.

The other two layers were created with two more of the Ovals Collection Framelits. I stamped the greeting on Whisper White cardstock and just centered my oval around it - so easy. It's like a big punch for your Big Shot. 
The little scalloped Circle was made with the 1" Scalloped Oval Punch. All of those pieces were sponged with Daffodil Delight ink before they were adhered together and popped up on the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals. 
As a final touch, I added a bow made with the Striped Organdy Ribbon in Melon Mambo.

It's been so cloudy for the past two weeks here where I live, this card just makes me smile and remember that there is sunshine beyond those clouds. It will come peeking back again - soon I hope!
