Do you watch the tv show Dr. Who?
It's a British import that apparently has a huge cult following.
The Geeks board over on Pinterest has pins galore referring to this tv show. It's crazy. Crazy cool that is!
Now I don't watch this particular British tv show, my personal geekdom is with Downton Abbey, but I know a lot of you do or you have kids, friends or family that does.
Well, my husband saw some of my new products from Stampin' Up!'s Spring Mini Catalog and of course he noticed the Dapper Dad stamp set. He is awesome and suggested that I use the bowtie to make a Dr. Who card.
I'm never one to back down from a challenge so I did a little research and created this:
I know it's cool because my 15 year old daughter walked in after I made it and said "Mom! That's AWESOME!"
Listen, when your 15 year old tells you anything is awesome, you do the little happy dance - know what I mean?
She loved my card so much she took a picture of it with her phone and texted it to her Dr. Who lovin' friend Laura.
Needless to say, I had to make them both one of these babies.
Here's the photo I used as my starting point:
The tweed jacket is mimiced by using More Mustard cardstock and embossing it with the Houndstooth Embossing Folder. I sponged over it lightly with Chocolate Chip ink to bring out the pattern and provide some contrast.
My understanding is that Dr. Who's bowtie is always red, so of course I stamped that image with Cherry Cobbler ink and just hand cut it out with Paper Snips. It's popped up on Stampin' Dimensionals and adhered to the card front.
For a masculine accent, I added a Naturals button to the top with a Glue Dot. The Keep Calm verbage comes from our Carry On stamp set which is a Hostess exclusive until the end of May.
Here's another look at this fun card:
If you like it, feel free to pin it and share it with all your geeky friends. My husband and daughter assure me that you'll be the coolest friend ever if you do.
And hey, if you want to make some of these on your own, you can either contact me at stampwithrobin@yahoo.com or you can visit my Online Store to purchase your supplies.

Have a great day everyone!
Maybe I need to make a Sherlock card next...........
